Here, we combine the power of our unique environment with the comforts of a cosmopolitan luxury hotel. For us, it is not about higher, further, or faster. No, we are concerned with the sustainable use of materials and resources of nature, the preservation of traditions, and the conscious experience of special moments.
The forest and the Forsthofgut have been closely connected for many years, for centuries even. For us, the forest is the place that gives us strength. Together with the vast meadows, the gentle grassy mountains on one side, and the rugged stone mountains on the other, the forest is our dearest neighbor. So it is not surprising that the love for this special place in nature flows through the entire hotel - from the waldSPA to the weinWALD.

If our favorite place is the forest, don't we have to do everything we can to protect it? We say: Yes. The forest is a real jack-of-all-trades and balances the regional climate. To ensure that this multi-talent continues to stay healthy and grow, we have launched a project that is very close to our hearts: The "waldLIEBE" tree sponsorship. We source as much food as possible from our immediate neighborhood in Leogang or from Saalfelden, ten kilometers away: This is also the home of the Haitzmann family from the Stechaubauernhof farm. The Stechaubauerhof farm has been our vegetable supplier for many years, providing us with 70% of the vegetables we need at the Forsthofgut. That's five tons of carrots alone per year! The Stechaubauerhof farm is a true organic pioneer.

Know where it comes from. With our CUISINE, regional actually means regional. We insist upon it. Our products for the local R50 dishes come from no more than 50 kilometers away and are marked with their own R50 seal, many even come from our farm. The processing is often traditional, but with a creative twist.

At the Forsthofgut, the holiday feeling starts right when you arrive, because we offer an in-house chauffeur service. This not only makes your holiday convenient from the start but also protects the environment: we are happy to support your sustainable arrival by train and will pick you up from the desired location with our hotel bus. We will also organize the return journey for you. In addition, we are happy to offer our guests a free pick-up service from the Saalfelden, Leogang, and Hochfilzen train stations.

Our farm.
For generations, the members of the Schmuck family have not only been hosts but above all: farmers and forest managers. It has been our long-term desire to cultivate and process products from our farm for the Forsthofgut. We have been able to realize this with the Mauthof. On the 21,8 hectares of meadows and pastures, broiler chickens, lambs, geese, and pigs feel right at home. Herbs, berries, and mushrooms can be found in the forest around the farm. This completes the cycle. The Forsthofgut, which grew out of a farm, can once again utilize its own produce for its excellent cuisine.
Magnificent fallow deer and red deer live together with dwarf goats in our three-hectare game enclosure. Hotelier and landlord Christoph Schmuck himself takes care of feeding the majestic animals. Once a week, guests are allowed to accompany him.
